Why This approach Works…
REPETITION and CONSISTENT practice helps young swimmers gain comfort and confidence.
I have found that children who only take lessons once a week often become scared of the water again by the time their next lesson comes around. Too much time between lessons can cause them to lose progress and confidence.
A min of 3 LESSONS WEEKLY ensures that the kids get frequent exposure, which helps them feel more comfortable and confident in the water quickly.
My first priority is water safety.
1) SAFETY: Once they are relaxed and confident, kids learn floating on their backs. This is a critical safety skill: if a child falls into the water, they will be able to surface, roll onto their back, breathe, and make their way to the wall.
2) BASIC SKILLS: From there, we begin working on kicking while swimming on their stomachs.
3) TECHNIQUE: We move on to learning strokes and techniques as kids are ready.
